New Mexico Magazine editor Emily Drabanski credits photographer Kirk Gittings for inspiring her to put together a book looking at the homes of New Mexico artists. Gittings had been taking pictures of luxurious and unusual homes in New Mexico for nearly 15 years when he suggested to Drabanski that artists' homes would make a good book.
